THE 2000 IS TOTALLY LOADED, THESE ARE THE OPTIONS THAT I LIKE OVER DUCKY'S....500EFI' HOT WATER AND SHOWER ( TOM AT DUCKY'S SAID HE COULD INSTALL THESE FOR ME ), TRANSOM SHOWER & POWER BOLSTERS. I'M NOT IN LOVE WITH EITHER PAINT JOB BUT THE 2000'S COULD BE CHANGED MUCH EASIER. BOTH BOATS HAVE HEAT/AC, BRAVO'S, MICROWAVE, FRIDGE,CD, TV/VCR, VACUFLUSH W/HOLDING, K-PLANES, TILT WHEEL...ETC.

ttremellen,
I have a 2000 380 Avenger, similar to what you're looking at, with the HP 500 EFI's( which, by the way all run rich!)it runs 78 mph on GPS with all my stuff on board and full fuel load, this is with 28" pitch props, which i think I'm going to stick with, since I run in a lot of rough water, and the couple extra mph that 30's may provide aren't worth the loss in holeshot.
The 496 HO's are nice because they are freshwater cooled instead of raw water cooling like the HP's(easier to winterize, more constant engine temps), but I don't know much about 'em. I love mine, great ride, and very comfortable for overnighting.
Let me know if I can be of any help,or you just want some input

We have a 2001 Avenger w/ 496's. Top speeds 73-76 GPS depending on water..... Chesapeake Bay, Potomac River or Florida Keys. We also got our boat thru Ducky's. Very nice people and they gave us a VERY GOOD deal. Hey they even sent us a Christmas card this year The captain is going to do some tweeking soon. Labbed props, ect. We just put it back in hibernation after a trip down south. Winter is very depressing We love our boat!!!

I bought mine through Ducky's and was pleased with the deal but service and attention to detail is beyond words (in a BAD way)! I have never dealt with this poor of customer service and find myself having to call and follow-up on them far more than I would expect considering the cost of my purchase. I would recommend that you try and find someone else to buy the boat from!!
