What year? some of the early models 1998 - 1999 had some hull problems - Bottom had excessive hook ect... If it is not one of those go for it. This is the boat I chose over some other "brand names". Mainly because I do have a family and want the best of both worlds comfort and acceptable speed. The one you speak of with 500EFI's would most likely do 80+-.

I bought mine used and there is a few for sale out there, on this board and on boat trader.

There is a nice one or so I am told for sale

Check out my home page for more picts ect. (click on little house at top of message).

Besides with all the PQ bashing some of the sunsation owners have been doing on this board It would be great to see you move "up"

Ray

TTREMELLEN,
Give Tim a call at Riverview 815-663-1000. I think he has a new 2001 38 with 500’s. With the 02's coming out you'll probably get a great deal.

TTREMELLEN, Give Ducky's boats a call at 717 944 4232. They are in Middletown, Pa. I have bought four boats from them so far and have received incredible deals and service. Tom was nice enough to give me a ride in the 38 Powerquest and it ate up the bay. Great boat . Denny

Yeah, I bought my new 34 PQ from Duckys as well. It was 15K cheaper than any other dealer.
They are PQ's #1 or #2 dealer, so maybe they get a volume discount and pass it on.

The deals were so good, there are now 3 new 340's and a new 280 in Va Beach now, all from Ducky's.

So far, I love my new 34. (11 hours)

OK, I TRIED DUCK'Y AND RIVERVIEW, AS WELL AS EVERY WEB SITE I COULD FIND. I THINK I NARROWED MY DECISION DOWN TO TWO BOATS. THERE IS A 2000 AVENGER TOTALLY LOADED WITH HP500EFI'S & 39 HOURS AND DUCKY'S HAS A 2001 AVENGER WITH MOST OPTIONS AND 496HO'S AND ONLY A FEW HOURS.THE 2000 IS ABOUT 23K CHEAPER BUT BOTH ARE VERY NICE. THE 00 IS IN FLORIDA ( ABOUT 1000 MILES ) DUCK'Y IS 20 MILES. BOTH WORKING IN A GOOD TRADE FOR MY BOAT. ANY INPUT?

TTR,

Before you buy, contact Mr. Robert Nelems @ Nelems Marine. He is a regular on OSO and a very nice man to deal with. He has a closeout special on a nice 01 380 Avenger with hp500efi's, trailer etc.

You can see some pictures buy clicking here

The contact information for him is listed on there as well.

Make sure you call or e-mail him for "buying price". Tell him hp500efi sent ya

Jeff

What are the options on each boat? Is top speed more important than amenities?

Personally I would opt for the newer boat. It will be better for you at resale time. Plus most people looking for that type of boat will be looking for amenities.

I have seen that boat that Duckys has, it nice. My friend was thinking about buying it, but couldn't find a place to keep a boat that big, so he opted for the 340.
Duckys WANTS to sell that boat bad. My freind got an incredible deal on it. Are you talking with Tom Jr?
