Default Fire extinguisher

I bought one of the chrome fire extinguishers with the billet power coated holder and can't seem to find a place to mount the thing that is out of the way yet some place I can get at it if nedded. Its either where you will rip skin off you knee or foot or totaly in the way.

Where are you guys putting them?

Its a good looking unit so I want to keep it in the cockpit somewhere.

Thanks

I have mine on the gun wall in front of the driverside bolster. I've noted several other boats with the same location.

That is the spot I was thinking about. Did you use the power coated bracket? The bracket I got (power coated) is pretty heavy with the extinguisher in it and the screws are not very far apart, Im worried that it may rip out if Im running hard.

If your boat is like mine I have a speaker in that area. Simply remove the speaker and install some type of backer behind it.

my bracket is the plastic one but I used a thru bolt and fender washer with a nylock nut on the back to hold it in place, just pull the shifters and you have all the room in the world to work

I just mounted a chrome fire extinguisher and brkt. from livorsi on my 380. I mounted mine on the drivers / starboard side to the cockpit liner on that 3-4 inch wide area that takes a 90 degree jog by the side storage and the front seats rear right leg. I thru bolted mine using 4 8-32 stainless flathead screws, nyloc nuts,#8 flat washers, and some larger washers. I gained access to the nuts by removing the carpeted divder in the side storage compt. Be sure to put masking tape over what your going to be drilling to prevent chipping the gel coat.
