Default 26 Legend Prop Survey

O.K. I've been testing props on my 26 for the last two year and one thing I've noted is speed gains have been pretty minimal. However handling and ride, we've seen some big changes in. I recently had Throttle Up re-work my 23p Mirage plus to get me an additional 200 rpm. We did pick up a couple mph (61 gps and maybe more) but at cruise and top she's become a handle full. Matter of fact last weekend in flat water downright scary! They took some of the cupping out and feathered the leading edge of the prop. Needless to say that prop won't be going back on. I've also tried a labbed 22p Bravo 1 4 blade with some what the same result. I'm now back to a 21p Mirage Plus and more than likely will buy another 23p Mirage Plus. Based on what I've seen the cupping on the prop keeps this hull under control.

So with that said what props are you running, rpm, speed and handling?

I had a 21 Mirage plus on my 260. I had a 454 mag carb motor in it i had Throttle up repitch it to a 22 and clean it up and it ran 5050 rpm and 62.3 Gps. I think the Mirage plus is the best prop for this boat. Whatever pitch you can spin to 5000 or so is the right prop. I did try a 24 bravo 1. It was a little too much prop only spinning 4500 or so, but I did like the handling and the port list was a lot less with the 4 blade. I wanted to try a 23 revolution but didn't ever do that.

I had a 260 with a 454 Mag and the 21 Mirage plus was the best prop for mine. The 4 blade props had too much stern lift.

I did move both of my batteries to the starboard side to get rid of the port lean.

I've got a 2000 26 legend SX with a 502 MPI. I am currently running a 23P Mirage Plus, 4900 rpm's and seems to be the best all around prop. I would like to gain 200 RPMs and a mile or 2 an hour, so I may have it worked. I tries a 25P Mirage Plus, could not spin it, and ran a 4 blade 22 bravo that gave me good rpm, great mid range, but lost too much top end. I tried a labbed 23P Mirage and it gave me perfect RPMs, but way too much slip.
