Thanks everyone for the information. I was thinking a 2000 38 with 502's would run low 70's and you pretty much confirmed it.

Not trying to jump the gun but I'm about one year out from making a boat purchase. I want to get information together as I browse the classifieds looking at boats to get a feel for when a good one comes up in my timeframe I can pull the trigger. Since I sold my 290 I have been looking at getting a 380 which has taken longer than originally planned but I'm patient.

Macklins 340 is a great looking boat and I do not doubt the care he has taken into maintaining it, I have seen it in the classifieds. However, there is no reason to bother anyone if I'm not completely ready to buy. If for some reason he has not sold it and it is still available in another year I will defiantly look at it. That's probably not ideal for him but it would be fine with me!

Anyway thanks again all. Happy 2007!!

Ven, PWRQST's '99 380 with 525SC's and 12" boxes runs right at 77 - 78 MPH. This is after having the stock flat-tappet cams replaced with a roller setup.
