Exclamation windscreen-windshield

I am looking for a newer/used 29 powerquest, but I keep finding them with a windshield. I want a windscreen just looks more like a speed boat to me, and not my Father's Oldsmobile. Is it possible to take off a windshield and replace it with a windscreen? Or is it too much trouble and work? Maybe I could take it back to the factory and have them do it?

Thanks

From what I understand, it is easier to take a winshield off and put the wind screen on, than to take a windscreen off to put a windshield on. They bed the windscreen down with adhesive. So you can do this. Check with Powerquest to see if they have a windscreen to fit a 290. I don't recall them selling that boat with a screen. Also they are not making the 290 after this year. Good luck with your search! By the way, I have a 260 with the windshield. I like the windshield better. That's just my .02

Default Scott is full of Baloney! I am not a liar!

WINDSHIELDS RULE!!!!!!
If you don't believe me , go out in the rain, or 5-6 footers, you'll love the glass!!
The 290's were never available with a screen, but maybe PQ could make you one? probably be real expensive, however.

I just got a quote from Mark Winea at PQ to put a windshield on my 38. A guy named Dave that works for Mark does this stuff on the side at his house. He said $750 labor and I would have to buy a windshield thru my dealer. He said their cost is around $1150 but my dealer might be able to get it cheaper thru a different vendor. He did say it was much more work than doing the opposite. 3 of the 4 that are serious on buying want a windshield. Ive seen a 29 with a screen by the way, so they did make them. This Dave is also gonna put my drive indicator cables on for a reasonable price.

By the way windshields suck. Ive had both and as long as your not over 6' tall they do the job. It is also one less thing to clean.
