PQ Owners Gathering 8/16-8/18
OK, it has been some time since we talked in detail about a gathering.
I along with other local PQ owners (hopefully ) will plan an organized event from August 16th - 18th. Docks will be reserved at Metro Beach, Harrison Twp, Michigan (at least for one night). This provides access to Lake St. Clair, Huron and Erie. Saturday night may be held at another location. Metro Beach has water, electricity, pumpout, showers and cooking facilities along with an area to store Truck w/Trailer.
I believe this would be the first organized event for PQ. Next year, other members from a different area of country can organize. That way all of us get to enjoy the many great boating locations.
I will contact the PQ headquarter to see if they would participate.
Lets take a quick roll call to see how many we have with a firm interest. Please respond ASAP. After that, we can determine cost and get everything reserved.
Mike

Kentz,
Metro Beach is North of Gross Pointe. You could put the boat in Lake Erie and boat up through the Detroit River then to Metro.
Look for I-94 and Metropolitain Parkway on a Map then take Metro Parkway East until you hit the water.
So we have 4 boats total...was hoping for 20 - 30.

We can reserve docks at metro if we have a bunch of boats. They did it each year for the poker run.
Come on up and spend a night. Not sure if we should travel south or north up to lake huron.
Maybe last day we will raft together at Gull Island or Muscamoot Bay.

Here's a chart of the Metro Beach area... Metro Beach entrance is the marked channel at the bottom of the chart, the Clinton (no relation to Bill) River is at the top. Chart is pretty well N-to-S, from top-to-bottom. Detroit River would be off to the south/southeast from here.
