Default 290 enticer running in the 80s

Does any body kno what it takes to get in the 80s with a 290 enticer I have been looking for info but have found nothing I am sure somebody out there has done this

There was a guy out of Canada with a 290 that ran the Shootout years ago and I want to say he was right around 90 MPH give or take.

290s are great boats ( I have owned 3 over the years) so please do not take this the wrong way,
there is absolutely no good reason to take a 290 over 70mph...again I think PQs are great boats but a 290s hull is limited to speed

That 290 I spoke of above had huge mills in it (800 HP plus I believe) and was an absolute handful.

so in other word be happy with the boats speed save my money and buy something else if i want to go any faster

I am on my second 290. absolute great all round boat. Buy something else if you want to go faster.

A friend of mine has one that he put 525 sc in it. It's a hand full!

I remember seeing that guy and thinking he was NUTS, lol. My 290 got pretty squirrely at 70mph...I couldn't imagine running it 20mph faster! I'm pretty sure the dude was from Quebec...

I have a 290 with pro-chargred 7.4s (10 years no problems). emi exhaust, full hydro steering. Never had it gps but it will bury the speedo. It is a handful over 75, but the mid-range is unbelievable.
