Default 340 prop comparison

Last weekend I documented a comparison between my stock Bravo 1 28P and a Hydromotive 26P (no diffuser ring)
and was really suprised. With the Hydro, I was all over the rev limiter, but OMG was the boat fast. Acceleration was about twice as quick to top speed and overall the boat handled really good (maybe better). Since the prop was w/o a diffuser ring, it was tough to get on plane. Here are the results in .gif form. If anyone wants a better copy, PM me with your fax # and I'll fax a copy over. (do I need a cover sheet?)

Stock Bravo 1 Base line:

Default P5,P5,P5.....

I know the problem with the hydros is the hole shot but they are supposed to be faster on the top end. This is why I want to try the P5, better on plane times and hopefully better top end. But $$$$ each. I need more testing on my B1's first. I know sejman said they were great but I haven't heard much lately.

Bill if I read the small print correctly you say the Hdro gives more bow lift than the Bravo. That goes against everything Hydro and PQ and everyone else has experienced I tried a set of Hydromotives once and could not get up on plane Do they spin in or out?
Please post the same data when and if you try the labbed 30's I would like to see if this does effect mid range like others have been talking about. Too bad your not closer you could try mine
I have a set of 28's laying around and I've been trying to decide if I should have them twisted to heavy 29 labbed or 29 non labbed.
Scott

Ray,
Still waiting for the 5 blade results

Bill, did I read it right? 7 MPH loss @ 3500 cruise with Hydro. I would expect the hydro to be faster, but yeild a poor cruise. Keep up the great work. ps, Gary @ Hydro did not recommend his props on our boats (weight) and cruise.?

Scott, a little more bow rise when coming out of the hole only. On plane the boat feels about the same, just much better acceleration with the Hydro.

Kentz, yup less cruise speed w/ Hydro.
I think a Hydromotice WITH a diffuser ring would work fine on our boats. The ones I tried did not have this, so coming on plane, I had to feather the throttles until it would bite. This is exactly the same results I got when I tried a Hydro on my old 280. Once the diffuser was added - virtually no problems!

Anyone know anyone with a set of labbed B1 30P I could try? Or a Hydromotive 27P????
I'll pay all expenses.
