Default Drive trim indicators out of sync

Helping a buddy with a 2000 34' PQ with the mechanical Gaffrig trim indicators. We need to adjust the trim indicator on one of the drives so that both are reading the same, but can't figure out how you get access to underneath of the side dash in order to adj the indicator. We removed the trim switch plate, it helped, but not enough. I'm thinking we can loosen the set screw on the cable hold to get what we need??? There doesn't look like enough threads on the end of the cable to get enough change. We moved the spring loaded part on the trim cyl to get some adj. but it was not enough. SO, how do we gain access to the bottom side?

Thanks

On the 260 I had, the only access was by removing the front dash panel with the guages. The wires were long enough to twist it around and lay it on a towel. Then I had a hole to reach around through. It was somewhat of a pain. From the pictures I have seen, I think the 340 is the same.

Good luck.

Jerry,
Looks like your only way in is to pull the gauge panel. I have had all of my panels pulled and have found the wires are long enough to move them out of the way so you can work behind them. I'm not to sure but I would think the indicator cables should be long enough to work with once you find a way to release the panel. Mines a 380 but I doubt there is any difference in size or layout.
Sorry for the lack of info

Scott, I see you purchased that new "hands free" steering wheel. Let us know how it works.

Thanks guys. Will pull the instrument panel.

Scott, your dash looks just like his 34'.
The purple looks great! How are the shifters colored? Way cool!!

Jerry,
They are Gaffrig controls I think they just paint them not sure. The trim and even the wheel is purple but for some reason everything looks blue with my digital. After looking in the Gaffrig catalogue I will have to order some bezels for my indicators and some of the other panels. Good luck and let me know how hard it was to remove the panel.

Scott, maybe it's my eyes but there seems to a piece missing that is suppossed to come out of the dash. You must have been replacing the steering wheel when you took the picture.

OK, now I think there is something wrong with my eyes. That is not the picture that was there before. Please tell me you changed the picture. I may be working too hard.

Quest For Speed,

I'm not too sure what you are talking about. Do you have eye trouble or drink too much
