Some of it has got to be form the frigid air and dense water (borderline freezing)....Just a consideration.

The bottom had hooks in it and the strakes were cut. These are similar mods that were done to all the 98's and some 99's Mark Winia did the work and the testing. These were to help with handling and speed.

They are delivering it to my shop in a few hours. I will then be able to check it out. I am sure the cool air helps some too but it should be a mid 80's boat for sure if what they say is true. I imagine I could eek 90 out of it with different lowers and labbed props but not worth the $$'s on this boat. I should be able to surprise a few people out ther with my "SUV"

WOW, hats off to PQ for performing way more than any other manufacture would to satisfy a customer.

Ray, tell them to motor over to the West side of the lake, there is plenty of open water . You must have received a lot of our ice on Sunday with all the big winds .

See ya

I just talked to Rod @ performance marine. He is fixing my oil leak (Pull engine) and cooling problems. He water tested it and hit 87.5 and was bangin' the rev limiters. I have 32" B1's on it (not 30's) he is going to try some 34's and test again.

I may try some 5 blades when I get it back.

I finally got it back from Rod @ Performance Marine a couple of days ago. It took way longer than expected. I can finally get it in the water next week and do some testing of my own.

I know many of you know and have delt with Rod but after what I just went through I would suggest someone else. I dont want to flame him but things have changed severely in his company and not for the better. I hope he gets things back together soon. But in the mean time if you need work done and you are concidering him think twice and beware.

Ray,

I'm glad you own more than one boat

When you get the chance give me a call @419-466-3920.
I have found a fix for an issue I had on my boat and would like to save you the trouble of going through what I have for the last 4 years!

Scott

Can you publish this information or is it proprietary. I have a similar situation and would also like to know.

My issues with the bottom were resolved. I have had some venting issues with the head that I wanted to share with Ray. It was a long winded fix!
If you use your tank (we do on long weekends away from the dock) I can give you advise on how to properly vent the tank and remove the pressure on it.

Any of you heard of bottom problems with the 34' Viper. My 1999 has major prop slip and I can't figure out why. I had the 30' props labbed by merc and no change . The boat is all stock. Motors are new HP500'S turning 5050 RPM's and I can only get 75 mph.
Ideas?
