prop advice for 88 fountain ?
what style prop works best on a old style fountain, 3 blade , 4 blade , hydramotive, bravo ? these boats have been around awhile so i know they been tested and hope you can point me in the right direction.
heres what it is
1988 fountain12 meter with 2000 hp500 efi long blocks with 420 mega blowers borg warner 72 trans and trs outdrives 1.50 ratio.
i got a set of hydramotive 25 pitch 4 blades on it for starters and finally got the motors running right. on flat water 1 ft chop at most i saw 72.6 mph on gps both motors running 5000 rpm but i have to trim it off the indicaters (too much transom lift ? ) ive seen 76 mph with star 5400rpm port 4600rpm on good water 2-3 fters before i fixed port motor (head gaskets)
i hope to get out on some good water this weekend and get better #s
thanks for any help Kevin

Re: prop advice for 88 fountain ?
You're not running too bad in the flat stuff. If you run the numbers, you'll see about 8% slip.
I'm surprised to see that with the trim you have to induce. Yes the props can create a lot of stern lift. Technology when the boat was built, was to use 3 blade props. TRS cleavers. I would stick to the 4bl props though. Try some Bravo 1's. They will help your trim issue if the Hydro's are Q4's.
