I need 16.75 x 38P 5 blade Merc or Hering Props for Number 6 drives. Anybody have any for sale. 16.5 diameter will also work as well as 37P.

Mercury doesn't make a 38 pitch #6. Keep in mind that Mercury #6 props are about 2" taller in pitch than they are marked. So a 35 pitch Mercury #6 prop is going to run about the same rpm as a Hering 37 pitch. The tallest #6 prop Mercury makes is 35 (true pitch of 37).

Actually, they were designed as the Kiekhaefer series propellers. They are 1" taller than stamped. Granted, due to the casting, pitching, and heat treating process, some can vary. The Mercury propellers were discontinued in the early 90's when Mercury bought Kiekhaefer Areo Marine. A couple of the Mercury props are still out there. There is a difference between the two. The 35's are usually about 36 pitch. We can make them to 38 without a problem.

I recently purchased a pair of 16.5 x 38P 6 Blade Herings. They won't work for me.
I need 5 blades. Anyone have any 16.5 x 38P or 16.75 x 38P 5 blades they want to sell or trade. Either diameter and 37P will also work for me.

Gino, what didn't you like about the 6 blade Hering?
Also you really need hering, You can't imagine the difference it makes in that boat.

Randy Scism said it's too much lift for the 39. They work much better on the 42 or 44. I tried to find out if they would work before I bought them but he was preparing for the Miami show. I didn't want to loose them so i took a shot and bought them. I will try to get Herings, thank you for the advice. I heard there is a 4 month wait for new ones.

Gino, what are you going to do with the 6-blades. I may be interested if you going to sell them. I am having a new 44 built right know, I would need to talk to scism but we were planning on running 38's.

I'd like to sell them or trade them for what I need. I got them for a good price. I will sell them for what I paid. $8500.
