What Bravo 1 prop pitch will I need ??
O.K. I need some guidance/suggestions as to what pitch prop I need to look for. Here are the details.
2000 Baja 36 Outlaw
Dyno'ed at 750 hp at 5400 (5500 rpm limit) 8 lbs boost with over 700 ft lbs torque
Approx weight is 10,000 loaded
Last year my best was 82 gps mph. That was done at 5100 rpm with stock 28" Bravo 1 props on 1.36 ratio Bravo drives.
This year I have changed the drives to 1.50 XR's with Imco 1" shorter lowers.
I am thinking I will need 30" Bravo 1 props and then maybe get them labbed. My goal is a solid 85 mph.
Maybe a five bladed prop might work but I am not sure.
Any guesses??

I bought this boat in a not running condition. I don't know why that should matter though. I am trying to figure out what pitch change I will need since I have changed the gear ratio in my outdrives. I am working with the same horsepower level as before.

The ratio alone will create a 2" pitch change. The bigger question is the additional drive height.
I can tell you right now, 30's ain't gonna to cut it. Then Labbed you'd be way off. 32's will most likely be the prop to work with. Also we should discuss other things like rotation. Your slip is already at 15.5%. We want to control that. 5 blades may be a great low end option but not after 1/2 throttle. Baja's aren't big 5 blade fans. You will need some 30 or 32 B1's to test and take that info to make the correct decision.
Call if you need help.
