What props for Sutphen 30 ?
Sutphen 30 with stock Merc 420`s / TRS drives. Currently running 26P Bravo`s. Not enough RPM. I need to increase by about 600 rpm. Do I need a 22P ?
What prop works best on a Sutphen ?

Re: What props for Sutphen 30 ?
It has been a while but I ran best with some three blades that Merc went over a couple times and as I recall they ended up being about a 27 pitch with the normal Bravo dia. I had 600+ hp and spun them up around 5800+. Had some four blades and that Merc went over with less rpm but was never able to get the speed out of them. Great cruising wheels though. The four blade will probably help settle the boat down when you start putting the hp to it. I don't think I would reduce dia on your selection but go after pitch reduction to get your rpm.....or add some hp

We've had good results with the Mirage Plus propellers over the years. One sleeper prop I would try is the 23 Revolution 4. I'd also like to see the props rotating in if that was an option.

I've got a set of props on ebay right now that might work for you. They are virgin and are good candidates for labbing if they need it. Check them out. The ad number is 300002332005.
Any questions about them let me know.

Spinning props "in" will give you more bow lift, but will be slightly more challenging around the docks because the water gets pushed up against the back of the transom while reversing.
Spinning the props "out" gives more lift at the back of the boat. Every type of boat is different as to what works best. For example, Baja's like bow lift and Fountains work best with stern lift.
If you have Bravo drives just switch the props and then put your shifters in reverse if you need to go forward and vice versa if you need to go backwards. Be careful when testing because you will be used to levers forward means forward. If you like it with the props spinning in, just swap the cables where they connect to the shifters.

We use 15 1/4 X 22p Offshore Cleavers spinning out and spin them 5800. It works great for us...lots of speed. 454's 385hp per side.
