I understand the effect of pitch and blade #s and diameter on RPMs and performance. But how do Hydromotive Intimadators 27" stack up against Bravo 28". I know some people claim Bravo pitch #s are optimistic and not truly as much as the claim. Blade area of the Hydros look to be less than Bravos so my thought would be an RPM gain. I'm looking to pick up about 500 rpms top end and am running 28" Bravos presently? I have access to two brand new 27" hydros for $600 and it caught my interest. I've been keeping my eye out for 26" bravos.

mopower,
I will try to assist you...but I will need more information to do so.
What is the make, model and year of your hull?
What type of power do you have?
What drives and gear ratio do you have?
What propeller are you currently running ...make, model and pitch?
What is your WOT RPM?
What is your WOT MPH, via GPS?
The QIV and Bravo I propellers are completely different props and really cannot be compared. However many times we will recommend one over the other dependent upon the boat and set-up.

I ran a Bravo 1 26 and a Quad IV 24 on my Pantera 24 and the rpms were about the same. Quad IV had a lot more stern lift and made the boat run much flatter. The Bravo 1 carried the bow higher and gave me about 2-3 mph more on top.

The 27 Hydro props are going to run about the same rpm as a stock 28 Bravo 1. The Bravo 1 props are less pitch than marked. Sometimes the difference in the marked pitch and the actual pitch is significant with the Bravo 1 props.
