I Need a little education on Quicksilver Mirage Prop'S
I have a set of 14 5/8 x 23p OEM Props on my Scarab now; I have a chance to get a set of 23p Quicksilver Mirage props. My question is
the part number is 48 13705 23 (Does this mean it’s a 13 ¾ Diameter?, If so would it work? 23 pitch is 23 pitch, right?
Are Quicksilver Mirage props any good? They are in perfect condition, what should both of them be worth?
Does Quicksilver have a web site so I can read up on props? I did a google search and I’m only finding stores selling Quicksilver props.
Thanks

The Quicksilver part number you listed is actually a Mercury part number for a Mirage Plus. THey are great props especially on mid-late 80 models and older. Quicksilver is owed and produced by Mercury.

23 Mirage props are 14 5/8 diameter.
Quicksilver was the branch of Mercury Marine that used to make all the parts and propellers. Called P&A parts and Accessories.
Now the the propeller division is called Mercury Propeller Co. or Mercury Propellers. There is still a Quicksilver line of propellers which is slightly cheaper and doesn't come with the hub assembles.
There are different generations of QSS and Mirage propellers

Ask a Mercury Rep for a copy of the Mercury Propeller Guide. It is full of info on all their props. Once you have it, you will have the knowledge to easily impress your friends.

So they may not be the best choice for my 99 Twin Engine Scarab? > I have mystery props on there now; I double-checked the only numbers I could find were 23p

Those "might" have been my props, if you recently saw them on Ebay. They didn`t sell. I still have them.
