Re: 25" Bravo III XR propset availability/price?
At one time there were several on eBay but I think the seller finally sold off all of his inventory.
New I think they are about $100-$150 higher per set, than a standard BIII. That's would put them in the $1300 - $1400 range.
I just wish they would not have scrapped the 29" idea. 27" is the highest pitch.

Would a 25" pitch XR set be a direct replacement for a standard 26" set? Do you take existing sets on trade? The propset I have is 2 seasons old and never been damaged or repaired. They are perfect. However, I was just going to send them in to be balanced, pitch verified/trued, and polished. Wanted to see what the price difference is to move to the XR's which are already polished.

If you really don't need the benefit of a new prop, like going to a XR and just want them cleaned up and polished, it'd be a lot less expensive to just get yours cleaned up and polished.
I'm still running a BIII. I was having some major cavitation burn issues with the rear prop so after the first season with the new motor I had them "fixed". As in filling the holes and had both labed. Not far into the second season the rear was toast. It showed signs of cav burn with-in 1-2 hours and soon after actually cracked. 1 problem was not having any cup added and also letting them thin the blades. I didn't gain any RPM but it slipped much more. I replaced the rear prop with a merc box stock 30p with cup and instantly I had better bite and slightly better top end and after 10 hours or so, including some hard runs, there is no sign of cav burn.
I may still have them cleaned up, not thinned, but not until after taking it south for a few days for a few minor things and running it on the PS dyno to confirm the power is where we think it is. Then I can tweak if need be. But, I'm already in the mindset that this year, I want to get it set up, and juet go enjoy it. I may even run it with the exhaust closed most of the time this year. LOL
Oh, and yes, the 25" XR would be what to use in place of a 26" standard. As I understand it, the extra blade surface of the forward prop is the reason.
And to add one more thing (since Brett has replied ) Brett did some work on at least one of the CL gang's BIII's who was having a major cav burn issue as I do (we have a support group ), and as of the end of last season, he still had no cav burn at all, and he said the results from the work Brett did was incredible!

Cool. Thanks for the info, Jim! I'm just curious how the 4th blade of the forward prop would do on my heavy boat.

Can the 27 XR's be repitched to equal a bravo 3 30' pitch?
I currently have my damaged 30.5 P's (originaly 28P's) with Brett at BBLADES for repair and fine tuning. The XR props sound interresting if they would work for my set up.
Would an XR lower bolt on to the bravo 3 lower?
Thanks,
Jamal
