Default Has anybody tried a Bravo III XR prop? OR B-BLADES LAB & RE-PITcH?

I have a heavy 9000# boat 10' wide 31'loa. With a single 454 hopped up plus a Procharger m-1 5psi. Trying to reach 50. Blew the outdrive last year and went for a newer 2.0/1 vs the 2.2/1 1998 with lesser strength. Props need to change as a result. Talked to Brent @ B-Blades today and we discussed a lab and re-pitch leading edge vs a set of XR props. The procharger as you may know spools up late so hole power is an issue. 24" stock Bravo III good planing and top 5200 45.7. 26" stock Bravo III sluggish planing 5000RPM 47.7 MPH. Any ideas?

Tom,

Did you run 3 blade fronts previously?

Didn't know any one else was do'in it with these props besides us.

Any before and after results? Hi-Gloss?

Sorry, just curious. Was there through the development of these props too.

I'd go with what Brett suggests. He has done 3 props for me and I'm close to sending my 4th.
The XR props are a 4+3 blade right? so the added blade may not give you as much on top.
I'm thinking 6 blades total should be enough.
A set of labbed 26p will have you knocking on 50.

Yes J&E blower pistons, another total re-build, new 2006 outdrive. Valves, roller rockers, merlin heads, cam all same as before. The culprit 23# injectors replaced with new 42#ers and a day with Dustin Whipple (in boat tuning) PRICELESS!!!

Brett, I did not run the props at all. These props came of a customers 40 formula ss w/525's . The customer dinged the edges and he went an bought 2 brand new sets.$$ I sent the props LI prop. and they fixed the edges and mri them and polished the blades to a high gloss. Tom
