BBlades: Mirage plus vs. Bravo one
Hey Brett,
I sent you an e-mail, but thought you might want to comment here as well.
My post from another thread,
"I had a chance to run my stock 27p M+ vs. my labbed 28p B1.
The top speeds were virtually identical with the 3 blade maybe 1mph faster. 74-75mph @ 4800-4900rpm...
With the 3 blade the drive must be trimmed down all the way and the boat heading straight to get out of the hole or it just blows out. In slow cornering the 3 blade also lost grip.
With the 4 blade, I find the boat much easier to drive especially in rough water.
I'll be contacting Brett at BBlades to see if he has labbing process for the 3 blade that will give better bite out of the hole and more top end speed on my boat."
Brett, do you think you can get me at least 2mph more and a better hole shot by modifying my 27p M+?

BBlades did a great job modifying my B1, giving me exactly what I asked for.
The blades on the M+ are real thick so I'm sure thinning them some will gain some rpm and bring up the speed. The trick is going to be the hole shot.
I ran a "labbed" 27p M+ last year and the fist time I hit the throttle I thought the hub spun or I simply didn't put the prop on right. That prop would blow out with like 1/3 throttle trying to plane off. It was fast on top though...

I am happy with the way my boat runs with my modified B1.
The M+ would only be for calm days looking for that last few mph...

Hi Guys,
Yes we have had pretty good success modifying the M+ propellers to get on plane quicker and to ventilate less. We dify the trailing edge during the Lab process and it works well. The key is knowing how much of a rpm change we get do. If the rpm level is already ok, we need to know that.

With 2 guys and 3/4 tank of gas, we had a top speed of a little over 75 mph at 4850rpm.
We could raise it 100-200rpm if it will give more speed.
Brett, send me an e-mail with an estimate for the modifications...
Thanks,

Pat,
I hope you don't mind if I respond here.
It would be a modified Lab job.
The cost to Lab 3 blade propellers is $320. We should be able to help the venting in all situations and grab a couple on the top.

I spoke to Brett yesterday and will be sending my 3 blade to him next week.
If we can gain 2-3mph on top, $320 is pretty cheap speed...

I sent my M+ out to Brett and he has received it.
Now I'm getting anxious...
Hey Brett,
I'm hoping to test a couple of props the weekend of September 22nd.
Any chance I can have the prop back by then?
I also need to arrange payment with you.
Thanks,
