Props for 32' Midnight Express w/ twin 300xs
We put the boat through break in on Saturday and Sunday with its new power. When getting on plane there is some cavitation, depending on how fast you try to get up. Running it seems fine however on Sunday after the engines were out of break in mode we tried to see how much rpms we could get and were only getting 5350. Right now the boat has 23 pitch Mirage plus. We are thinking about lowering the engines one hole and trying some other props. Any ideas?

Second from top mounting hole. Propshaft 1.5" below hull
Fleetmaster gearcases.
Not sure on the exact weight. But i would have to say at least 8000lbs, and we almost always load her down real good with fishing gear, 10-12 dive tanks, coolers, ice, 4-6 people etc. She is a very heavy boat for her size. She also holds 500 gallons of fuel and though we never fill it, we almost always fill the tank in the bow which is 150.
I think it is vessel induced because if you go up on a plane real slow it is ok. But if you punch it just the slightest bit it blows out. When on a plane it seems pretty good although I think it should be able to turn a few more rpms

Mirage 23's
How many hours on the 300xs's? I thought break in period was 5 - 10 hrs... turns out it wasn't until 30 - 40 hrs that I got any power out of mine. All the prop testing I did was a waste of time and I had to start over.

10 hours? 40-50 hours? I was just going by the vessel view alarms as well as the manual and the sticker that came on the cowling. When you first start them there was a warning/ caution symbol in the top left of the screen. When you go to the active alarms display it says the engines are in break in mode. The second day we ran them, on Sunday, it went to the green, all systems ok symbol. We also noticed much less oil usage. The first day after about four and a half hours of use they both burned about a gallon of oil. Second day not nearly as much.
We already ordered M+ 21s for this weekend, with the engines one hole lower. If that does not improve things maybe we will try the four blades.
