Default 24' and 26' bravos, same speed. hmmm why?

here is the story. Trying to get a little more speed.
24" Bravos, 5000 RPM, WOT. 65 MPH.
26" Bravos, 4800 RPM, WOT. 65MPH.

two different pitch props, little different WOT. same speed.
ANy bennifits for usng the 26"s? with lower RPM's?? fuel use? better for the engines?

I can't get any more speed out of this beast. 65 MPH .. that's it. Twin 496 HO's bravo 1's.

THanks
Before I spend the $ for labbing, I want to be sure I lab the right set of props.
Interested in a 26' Infinity or a 27' Formula? Both are great deals.

not enough HP to spin the 26's 5000K but the move you further per Revolution ...comment is correct about labbing them but do you really want to spend the $$$ and also the props will be more fragile .....m

I plan to boost the HP somehow, but I have not decided what is the best way to go for the best result for the $,'s.
Whipples? Revlar kit? rocker arms and headers? I will lab the props, once I find which props to lab. Every MPH is a welcomed increase. I am supprised that I get the same speed, so I rather use less RPM's. I guess.

Lab the 26's ...it will get you back to 5K and pickup speed ....
For the 496 .Raylar is prob the best bet ... They have done a lot of work on the 496 and prob know them better than anybody ...Just depends on your pockets ...

If you dont use the 26's .. I'm interested in them... m

Mike,
MarilandMark here on OSO has a couple of 25" hydros.
I tried them but the Bravos worked better for me.

Mike, are you thinking of those 26s for you? With the new power? I'm thinking you'll want 28s...at least.
Ted (insptech) is turning 26s to 46 or 48 with his stock 502MPIs and AC & gen. I don't recall your exact hp #, but I recall it being much bigger than the ~415hp of a stock 502.
I've got a set of 26s you can try when you're ready. FL-GA game is Oct. 27...
