Added 2.5" Shorty Prop Ideas?
Added an Alpha SS drive two months ago. It's 2.5" shorter than a standard Alpha/Bravo. Propshaft is 3-3.5" below pad.
Picked up 4mph @ 500rpms @ WOT Lost 5-6mph at cruise speeds.
Boat is an 84 Hammond Challenger MKII 21' pad bottom 22* deadrise V. 2600lbs wet
Engine is a 385ci SBC with arond 450-475HP.
With a Hydromotive labbed 14 5/8" 23p 3 blade TRS cleaver I have ran a best of 78.2 GPS @ 5900-6000rpms which is 9-10% slip.
Boat handles great and acceleration is awesome but only at higher speeds. Planing is decent and I can still pull kneeboarders but low speed cruising and turning is non existant. Anything under 3K rpms I have major blowout and cavitation. Even hitting some larger waves will cause the prop to blow out.
I mainly want a prop that has better low speed charachteristics w/o sacrificing any topend. Is it possible?

I had good luck with the Turbo 2+2 prop with the S.S. on a 22' Donzi.
You can contact Big Grizz on that site for props also !

DONZI, Thanks for link. Good info.
Here's a few vids of the boat running. Again, topend is awesome.
