Question for Throttle-Up
We sold our 29' Warlock and have a 39' Velocity now. The stock props are 30" non labbed Bravos. They seem to be a pretty good selection for our setup: 500 EFIs, 84 GPS. 5200 RPMs. Props turn inward.
With your experience what prop would you think would be the fastest, ie: Bravo, Hydromotive 4 or 5 blade? What do you think about cutting off the flange on the current Bravos?
Thanks
Frank

Re: Question for Throttle-Up
Congrats on the NEW Boat! The 39 is a beautiful boat.
What drives and gear ratio do you have?
If it is a 1.5 then you have about 12% slip.
If they are 1.36 gears then you have about 20% slip.
I hope you are running a 1.5 for the sake of drive heigth. Anyway I can tell you that that the P5-X works well on the 39. But with the goal of top end in mind I think that the Hydromotive QIV will possibly be the fastest on the boat. The 5B props will be with in 2 MPH either on top. Feel Free to call me and if you want to test some props let me know!

Re: Question for Throttle-Up
Julie:
Yes, the gear ratio is 1.5..
A couple of more questions:
When you say the five blades are within two mph, is that two less at top end? Are the advantages at mid range then?
Also removing the flange on the Bravo 1 have you seen any gains. Advantages/ disadvantages.
And more importantly, we haven't seen you guys around in a couple of years.. Are you guys boating at all?
