Default 88 baja 226 sport 454 mag upgrades?

Hey guys. It's been a while since I hav been on here. Well I'm starting to put my motor back together since a valve stuck. Well going to start. I'm looking for some advice. I plan on using the stock mag heads and getting a 3 angle valve job done and going as big as I can without getting new valve springs and doing all kinds of head work. Reusing the stock forged pistons, connecting rods, and crank since they are all forged already. Thinking of getting some gapless rings, roller rockers and possibly a new carb. Just curious about what exhaust to use. Was looking at Hardin marine Gil style replacements with the low exit exhaust. Some people say they are junk and I don't want to spend over like $2600. I have like $4500 to spend between the exhaust and motor upgrades. Just looking for some info or people who have built the 454 carb mag motors. I'm using a stock bravo 1 out drive. Thanks

My Gil Exhaust is great, not sure about the new ones. Budget in some money for a cam and valve springs. Choose your exhaust and go a little bigger than the stock 224/224 Magnum cam you should be around 425 hp pretty easy

Also go with a air gap style intake. I like Holley carbs go with an 800 cfm

I was looking at the Hardin marine low exit gill replacement manifolds. I think it was one of the guys at cpperformance said without doing new valves and valve springs the biggest I could go would be 218 intake and 224 exhaust at .050 with 112 degree lsa
