Thanks

Things are moving along. Still a bit slower than we would like, but moving never the less. As of today the fiberglass is mostly white. Hope to start re-assembly next week.

Also updating the swim platform. Gone is the yellow, which put up a really good fight I'll say.. Two coats of paint, on top of yellow powedercoat. Actually had to employ some strippers...

Since the drives are serviced via top cover access hole, needed a solution that allows access to the drives, but retains a way into the boat from the water. Preferably something that doesn't require unbolting the swim platform to check fluid levels... Solution, some 1" thick aluminum blocks, and build the piano hinge. Blocks bolt to boat thru factory holes, platform is pinned to blocks. Lower supports then bolt to pr of spacer blocks.

Removing 4 SS bolts, it swing up. If you need full access, pull the 2 SS hinge pins and it's off the boat, out of the way. At least that's the plan.

What I meant to say was, Deploy Stipper...

All the electronics and trim are here waiting to go in. Livorsi billet "dbw" throttles, shifters, Vantage View gauges, and matching wheel. Bench tested everything, so just gotta cut the new panel and run a few wires.

Looking good. Did you get the hatch from Fox Chapel Marine in Pittsburgh? That's the only Baja dealer I know if around here. But I don't remember any 40ft outlaws around here for a while

Yeah this 40 OL, and the orange paint scheme triple 700's used in Baja ads both passed thru Fox Chapel new. According to the shop mgr, the new triple owner wanted a sun pad cover rather than the lexan with wing. So this one got hung above the showroom door until someone mentioned it when I was searching for a flat cover.

I will say it's about half the weight of that one we just pulled. Two guys can carry this one. Plus the outside hinge setup is makes it quicker to pull if need be. Down side is we have to dig those lexan panels out just to get at screws holding the air scoop cover on. That's this weekends task..

Towed the boat home from paint shop today. Big shout out to Eddie's Autobody in Norton OH for doing a knock out job. Took over 7 gallons of urethane, 11 gallons sprayed material to cover all of it. Then another weeks worth of blocking and buffing to give it a super deep finish. Really turned out nice. Just waiting for new rub rails to arrive.

Also started prepping the new engine hatch. Have to remove the panels to get at the screws holding the vent cover. First lexan panel came out without much effort, but the second one turned out to NOT be lexan...
These were originally epoxied in, so removing them in one piece obviously wasn't in the designers plans. But now I'd love to know what happened to the first piece of double pane glass??
