I have 1 set of 18" dia x 32p 4 bladed cleavers you could try. for #6 drives? May not be enough pitch, only 4 blade and they are old style with not alot of rake. Let me know, I'm, just south of Cleveland.

I understand that may not be ideal, and pitch probably too low, however, might get you on plane and running to test a few things. Maybe the lower ptich and bigger diameter combo would help? It helped get mine on plane, as I struggle with anything over a 32 pitch and under 18" diameter.

Are you going to dunk up here now that the water is not solid?

Yes I'd love to give those a spin. Our first set [which I still have here] was 34P on 4 and second was 32P on 6 blades, both in a 17ish diameter. So those are in the right pitch range and diameter. Just shy a blade or two, but today we're not picky.. lol. Plan is to test here in Ohio soon as we get things back together.

However I think we may need to start an online petition to get our drives back. Week six ends Friday, and so far we have confirmed that one is back together with a new $3,600 prop shaft. No updates on the damaged unit in a couple weeks.

Anyone here ever bend a #6 prop shaft?? I'm just curious since when I brought up the question to Pat before we grenaded the other unit, he said it must have thrown a blade. Did some searching under drive topics and didn't find where anyone had reported that issue with #6 or M8 drives. But we now have 2 bent shafts in the junk box,, which means Adam must have chunked a few blades on that Nor-Tech.

Not to to fret, those two bent shafts are gonna look Bichin all chromed out in the bilge under the glass with a set of spare cleavers hanging on em. Just like those drives will make a great focal piece on the wall in Dave's office if one fails again...

Hmmm, on second thought, I may not ever see blades on my props again.....

I was having similar experience not getting on plane until i dropped pitch and increased diameter. That's why I mentioned it. Welcome to give them a try, but I would need them back in one piece....

From what I saw with those17" 4 blades, they won't hook hard enough to chuck a blade. Plus on the river up here, not likely to fly out of the water. More likely ya smack a waterlogged stump. But not to worry, we'd give ya $200 for every missing blade...

Thanks and we'll hit ya up for certain. Sometime around mid June I suppose.

With bearings.. It's actually only $3250 for the physical shaft, my bad...

Still a grand more than retail Merc #6 version. Why I plan to spend an extra $100 to have those 2 bent ones chromed. Gotta make a couple desk lamps, or something Artisan looking for that kinda $$$$. Sure glad we have all the other extra hardware in abundance.

Planted this garden while I lived in Fla.

My sacrifice to the gods of speed.
It is an expensive club.

An expense of living in Fla that I hadn’t anticipated 😂

My wife refuses to let me decorate our yard.

So I have to think of other cool things to do with these junk parts. Luckily we have a pond...

Hilarious!

When I raced kneel down hydros, my buds and I would get together at a lake at the end of the season for a free for all.

Spend the weekend camping and playing.
Every yr there was a case of beer to be won by the fastest boat there.
No rules.

I always built my own boats and one yr I built one w/junk materials ($$$) just to see if my design worked.

It did and I won the case of beer.
It was too dangerous to race it a 2nd season so we stripped the hardware out of it, hooked it to my buddies truck and I rode in it while he pulled it through the service roads.
Our drunken friends rode in the bed of the truck and threw beer cans at me.

We then towed it back to camp site and set it on fire.

Fun was had by all.
