Opened em up, and it's just our same drives in Merc boxes..
Think they are gonna require a little paint work. Any suggestions on what sticks well to aluminum in salt water? The Awlgrip we previously used is impervious to salt, but totally allergic to any petroleum based oils. Which has caused them to blister badly every time a drop gets on em. For now, gonna break out some sanding balls and then pressure test this fix.

Cleaned up that beautiful weld on the busted case, then pressure tested it with some soapy water. Next I hauled it down to my local welder buddy, who luckily a couple hours later, was able make all the bubbles stop..
Both lower units at paint shop now and hopefully back on the boat early next week.
