Yes those are nice clean 280 plate. But after some measuring, are exactly what we have now.
Plates we need are 380S or Merc# 891574T01

That's a bad ass looking ride. They get all the coolest cars somehow. Australia is like the proving grounds for GM and Ford. If it sells good there, change the name and introduce it to the US market next year.

But the whole el camino thing seems much more popular over there. Last time GM or Ford sold one here, was in 1987.

Couple more videos I found yesterday on my helpers cell phone.

From testing the 18x30P props, and last run on transmissions. The shift RPM was about 3500R, and fell off to below 2000R and couldn't hold plane. But there is a delay between gears that Tyson and I were trying to isolate on the bench. At this point nothing looks out of the ordinary, and thinking it may have been clutches slipping. Certainly wasn't helping our low speed planing.

So now I'm looking at wheel speed sensor / ring kits to put on the driveshafts and compare to engine RPM. Maybe something jumps to you guys that I'm missing?

that seems to be a huge gear change i used to crew on a riva with MAN engines that had 2 speed it made a loud bang like hitting a log and dropped 500 rpm riva is a very fancy Italian speed boat yacht lots of teak and you entered from the stern med style push a button and the canvas would unfold and install my fav part was the ferrari tweeet tweeet horn

Not 100% sure about my rpm drop when shifting in 2 th gear , but out of my head its 400-500 rpm . It might sound low , the boat can also
come in plane in 2 th gear , it take a while , and it’s a bit Smokey . By the sound I hear when you shift its is indeed a huge drop down in rpm , and starting to smoke right on . Do you have access to a set smaller pitch props ? Just for make sure what happens

Mine does not made a loud bang shifting up or down , I do however take the load of for a split second when shifting up , downshift is protected by a ZF module that won,t allow downshift above 1600 rpm , upshift can be at any rpm
