I just arrived back in Sarasota with a box of parts couple hours ago. Was in the first Cleveland blizzard of 2020 picking up the new gears 48hrs ago. Didn't see a single boat out on the lake. Well actually ya couldn't see the lake, so can't say for certain nobody was boating..

He had to drive through the ‘hop’ first to get to the chine walking.
Old school outboard guys don't have time to get cold.

Sometimes you gotta teach it who’s boss.

Was a bit squirrelly the first few passes.

I deleted the glow plugs, so these engines can't be started below 45F. I've tried..

Built in safety feature. If owner feels the need to go out in life threatening cold conditions, the engines won't allow it. Safety First...

Todays field trip.

That awesome Gary. We boat year round into the 40s here in SC. Worst case we use a motorcycle helmet. We even have some wives that come along for the adventure. Let us know how she performs.

At least you didn't have to break the ice to get out of the marina, I had to do that once. It was so cold the rubber diaphragm in the fuel pump was struggling so I had to keep pumping the primer bulb. We were flying across the lake and it was incredibly windy so we looked for a calmer cove. we quickly found out it wasn't calm, it was frozen! Fortunately we had an outboard and we were up on the pad so the boat just hopped up on the ice and skidded across. When we finally slowed down the weight of the boat broke the ice and we were able to idle out breaking the ice along the way. My buddy and I still laugh about that and that was 30 years ago. As long as it's above freezing it's boating weather for me.

All this cold weather talk has dropped the temperature down here in FL to the mid 40's. First day I've worn bluejeans and a sweater since I got back. Which tells me, it's gotta be dang cold up there on the lakes today..

So I closed the shop doors, and it was much more comfortable...
