Scarab 28 - Hull & Deck
The Hull & Deck from the nose to the end of the cuddy and in the cockpit along the gunwales were glassed together for extra strength and rigidity. In addition, braces were glassed into the area between the cockpit skin and the hull. The boat had a flimsy, plastic (useless) storage compartment. It was removed and a larger, deeper compartment with drain hole was glassed into the location adding strength. It will be carpeted and have LED lighting.

This is it. Port-side of the cockpit below the gunwale. There was only one on my boat; it originally was a form-fitted plastic piece (I don't have a pic of the original but it was lousy). You can see the bottom piece glassed between the cockpit skin and the hull. The front and back are also glassed with a drain in the back. It's deeper and longer than what was originally installed. It'll will be finished in black marine upholstery/carpeting - and there will be a finish trim installed so you don't see the original rough cut. The upper shape you see is how the original piece fit into the section. But this discussion is giving me an idea. Stay tuned!

Scarab 28 - Hull & Deck (before & after)
Here's a before and after photo. You can see Dan's work detail on the hull/deck joint and the improvement over the factory bond.

LOL, that is funny. Previously I was having to tighten the screws back in all the time; really sucked and looked like the boat was falling apart. Hope that won't be the case now.

Yes, Dave. Pretty sure we'll be ok. The box is pushing the drive back and that helps. Was yours a single or twin engine?
