The restoration began last fall, the posts previous to this bring us up to mid summer this year. We got to enjoy her on Shasta and were very pleased.

Now we are caught up to present day. Here are pictures of the original dash. This winter I'll be upgrading and repainting it.

I had a new aluminum panel cut and then I wrapped it in carbon. I just ordered some blue bezels from Eddie Marine to spruce it up further than these pics. You can see old vs. new panel.

I found these Morse MY controls on Ebay. I stripped the handles and have sent them off to get powdercoated in white. I also have a Formula trim switch for the throttle lever.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm no professional but I'm happy with the results so far.
You are right these boats handle the rough very well. Legend has it the hulls were a copy from an early Donzi/Formula or something. I did notice after the stringer/floor fix the boat was more solid banging through the waves. A lot less flex. The hull is hand laid and very thick so perhaps that's why it seemed the stringers weren't built as substantial as I've seen in other boat brand restorations on this site.
I'll keep posting pics as work gets done.

You did a great job. Did you check the transom for moisture? I replaced mine in my 1990 257 after hitting a submerged log and breaking the hat on the starboard drive. The wood in the transom was actually pretty good but the drive cut outs had some spots I wasn't happy about since it wasn't sealed with resin/gelcoat as most boats in those days. My boat has the fiberglass inner liner that started in 1990 for Mirage,I think . The stringers were encapsulated and heavily fiberglassed, about 5/16 thick. My boat was built for the owner of Mirage, only a few with twins in the 257 series Trovare. Had 383 sc Chevs origionally, I do have the 6.2 [ 377 ] MPI's in the boat.
