So I pulled my oil pan today- went to put the new one on- and its not even close. This is the story of my life. Are the oil pans different on Mark IV and Mark V?

Hey, go easy on an old fart.....

Just got the news that they will outlaw twostrokes that are not fuelinjected from 2013 here on Lake Mead. I haven't read the entire script yet and don't know if a MAD EFI setup on my 8's will qualify or not.. If not, I will have to get myself another three or four engines and start the rigging all over again

My question is; can't my engines be grandfathered in? Anybody know how this stuff work? Maybe I can get a grant to replace my engines??

I dunno, time will tell I guess... until then I am enjoying the wonderful fumes of my good old two strokes.. (You guys should see how fast I can clear the dock when I start them cold....)

This is the beauty of having twin engines. $$$$$$$$$$ So you have both a IV and a V?

Yes- when I first got my boat and pulled the port engine (if you look back in the thread you can see how bad it was) I went to great lengths to get a 4 bolt main Gen IV, so everything would match. Then I decided to rebuild the starboard side, and come to find out it was a Mark V( which if I had known that before it would have made my life a lot easier and less expensive). The problem is it has been so long since I did that(2 years) I forgot.
