I think by next month I will be ready. I just got the drives going up and down like they should. I replaced both trim pumps and a few trim rams. Quick question.....what gear oil are you using in your outdrives? I'm going through just about everything before I hit the lake. I have pics now but they are too big to post right now-I will have them up soon so you can see my mess. Everything going good for you?

Mercery Hy performance would be my first choice or I run what ever is on sale One thing that is very important is to run royal purple (or equevilant) ATF in the trannies. They only hold 2 qts each and it really helps keep the temps down. Heat kills the merctrans.

Mobile 1, 100% synthetic ATF did very well on my tranny temp on my truck. I decided to put it in all my vehicles. As for Hydraulic steering fluid I did a little research and found that the very high $$$ stuff they say we must use in our marine steering is actually an hydraulic fluid made for aircraft. Being a pilot I aimed for the director of maintenance and robbed him of a few gallons of the stuff. It is not very expensive at all and if you can ketch a salesman / aircraft mechanic / supervisor of a maintenance shop..... you can get it for next to nothing. Just ask for hydraulic fluid with MIL SPEC: MIL-H-5606A. I use the Royco brand and it is named 756A. Shell and Mobil have the same stuff with a different brand name. I see absolutely no reason why it would not work for hydraulic rams as well, but I have outboards and use Mobil 1 synthetic AF.
