HP vs. MPH Question???
I have a 38' AVS Scarab and want to get my speeds up to the mid 90's. First... what amount of HP do I need to have my motors built to? (650, 700, 750+) Second... I will be running XR's, any recomemdations on props that will give me the best performance to achieve this speed? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Assuming you have 500HPs and are running 73-75 right now, I would assume (based on 20HP per MPH) that you would need about 950 per side to hit 93-95 MPH. Props....haven't a clue, but there gonna have to be pretty big.
and if you complete the above tasks I'd keep a spare XR or 3 laying around.

You might be able to do it with a little over 625@prop HP per side but you will need to work at the set-up for that. I am running 92 w/ 560@prop per side and you are only about 1400Lbs heavier than my 33. No bravos on my boat though.

750hp per side at prop with stand off boxs will do low 90's. Bravo 4 blade with XR/ Imco -1 shorties may work well.Call scarab or go to there sight. They still list all previous test reports. Dont think they tested with more then 600hp.
