I started out wanting to build some engines that would put out 550HP, but as the build went on I decided to put the goodies inside it so the final limiting factor restricting my HP would be the carb.(easiest variable to change) I was going to try a friends 850 but after seeing that I was well over my build goals I decided to just stick with my 750's. I ran the engine on the dyno while hooked up to my hand held Innovate LM-1 AFR meter and wrote the readings down. If down the road I decide that I need a little more power I will then try some 850's. I think I might be as fast as I want to go, but only time will tell.

I once ran a 468 in a 69' camaro. I had a .680 lift roller cam and rect heads. I ran a holly race 830 carb that had 4 corner idle and annular boosters. The carb was a good deal at the time at $380 from summit. I was thinking that carb would be sometyhing to look at when you are ready. It gave me really good throttle response down low and plenty up top. I had a 7200 shift point with my setup (9.8-10.2 comp.). But I hear you when you say I ran it cause I had it! Good call on putting the good inside before outside.
