1. I love a challange!
2. I want more speed without having to add a ton of power. From what I hear I am going to pickup 8-10mph. That's hard to achieve in an older boat without a ton of horsepower. In the grand scheme of things this drive conversion is pretty cheap
3. They are bullet proof drives and many parts are still available (besides I have two complete spares)
4. The rooster tail! DUH!!

Did you ever try something different than the Hydrmotives? I could never get any performance out of them on my boat. I thought you were at 76. 74 is still respectable with our straight V slugs and 80 will be nice.

I saw 76 with the 3 blades I had before but the thing was a bear to get up on plane. The 4 blades are so much better out of the hole but I suffer a bit on the top end
