What kind of mufflers do you have, if they are pneumatic that has a stainless flap that you have to shut so the water will not go up the tails . Also if you have a enough fall on the tails water generally will not run that far up hill.
Or you can always get a couple nerf balls and stick in the tail pipes while you are anchored.

I would not be concerned with water going in the tails if you are going to level the boat out. also is the exhaust tail pipes one piece all the way thru the transom or do you have them going right to the transom and have exhaust tips? most exhaust tips have internal rubber flappers that usually burn out. or get the flappers made for your mufflers
