Opinions wanted
I have been looking at a 1998 Scarab 29’ with twin 350. The boat is a repo and needs some work, the rear engine hatch is missing and the rear bench seat is gone. Engines run strong and look good, they do not look that they are stock. Any ways the owner is asking $24,500, I am new to scarabs and would like opinions on the boat and how much would it cost to replace the things missing? Also my last boat was a 29 fever with twin 454 mags, how do the two match up?

check with magee canvas they do vinyl too they could probably give you an estimate on the prices it was 165 to redo the seat vinyl on my old boat. But if they had to build it all it would probably add up quick

I'm certainly no expert on the 29's but just from reading a few posts I can tell you that you're looking at a top speed in the mid 60's stock which is probably much less than your fountain. There are always threads on this board about getting more power out of the 350's. Sounds like if you can get them to hit 80 you've done a great job.
I would say the bench seat would not be a problem, I would be more worried about the engine hatch.
