The boats love mirage plus blades , lots of bow lift , if you put more motor in it a 25 plus , I have a 27 plus it is to small for me $ 250 shipped good shape

depends on the power but for 250 bucks it is a good spare I have five propellers know and I really only need 2

I would try a Rev 4 you will find that they pull very well to get on plane and top end is as good as the Mirage.

Have you gone into the Wellcraft "resources" website? They have all of their boats specifications listed. Your boat with a single 502 and a 23p Mirage plus was rated at 61 mph at 5000 rpm. The fact that you are hitting 60 mph 17 years later is impressive.
Your boat probably weighs 5500 with fuel and gear...I think 60 mph is impressive for a 29 foot boat with a single big block and only 415 hp.

Yes Sr. 60 mph is all I have got out of her with both prop changes but neither r plus props just mirage! And now I wanna go a little faster as we all do! but with out all the machine work lol, just add on's! I'm use to going faster, all my other boats have all been way faster and I'm just ready to settle down a little and just have a nice riding boat that I don't have to work on! I'm just not use to 60 wide open and 35-40 as a cruse speed! my old baja was a 80 mph boat and was nice, and all my jets and pickle fork was all over 100+ GPS but maybe I just need to get use to it lol! But any advise I be thankful for!

And what about the k&n air cleaners they worth it? Anyone?

Its funny because you and I are in similar "boats"....I bought my boat last year and was running a 23 pitch laser ii prop...Was only running 50 mph and was very disappointed. I plugged my numbers into the mercury prop slip calculator and it showed me at 22% prop slip!!! Whoa! I ended up trying a 21 pitch Mirage prop and my speed increased to 55 mph and my slip dropped to 10%. Am I happy with 55 mph? NO! BUT I know that at 10% slip Im not going to do any better without more power.

I ran your numbers and you are at 14% prop slip so there is some room for improvement with a different prop (have you tried the Revolution 4 prop? I know they have a ton of bow lift which might help with your slip and speed)...Lets assume you get to 10% slip that will still only put you at 63 mph! At the end of the day you either need to accept low 60's or add more power (and loose that stock reliability that I think we both want).

By the way--I bought a K and N filter and it did nothing for me.
