My p29 winter project
With winter in full swing it is time to get ready for summer. Removing engines and drives tomorrow. On #22. Having transom replaced along with all of the holes from the ridiculous stereo patched. Sending out the drives, I had snapped something at the end of last season. If I have any other extra money I might build a few 383s. Does anyone have any numbers on what a p29 runs with 400-425hp. Just wondering. Will post pics as engines come out.

Not a p29 but did the same rebuild last year on my 31. Pulled engines, had transom and stringers replaced then i rerigged. It was a lot of work but I feel alot better about the boat now.

Good luck with the project. I have the Bravo 4V 383 Mag Strokers from Merc (Crate Motors). They have 350hp with the stock exhuast with the BH drives. Best I have seen is 76mph on GPS. I know my props need to be cleaned up. I can't imagine that will account for much more than 1 or maybe 2 mph. Another 150hp should get you into the 80's.
