I tried a I-Pad and could not see the screen in the sun at all. Looked on forums, tried different screen covers that were supposed to help and none did. Even tried some that pilots said they used, still no good.
If you can shield it from sunlight it may work but they also do not like getting hot.

Very different boat to yours but I had a small ‘pod’ made for my old Fountain. I only wanted a small plotter and stereo. Just a thought, make your own pod to suit the dash and plotter?

Very good ideas guys. Thanks for the info. I will have room in the upper cluster as the depth finder and the engine synchronizer will not be used. I thought about maybe putting the stereo receiver to the left side so passengers can access it. We painted the instrument panel today, also, look what else showed up. Although not exciting, or cheap, this can save the boat from burning up…

I run a Samsung Tab 12 on my Panther. It is the brightest tablet I could find. It has an internal GPS and I run my Navionics off of it, all of my music and apps, hotspot off of my phone for entertainment and internet. It works pretty good. I do have it mounted under my fairing to keep it out of the elements and sun.

Winston sprayed the house of kolor chrome paint on the cabin hatches today, I think they’re going to turn out pretty good. You spray the part with black, then spray clearcoat on it, THEN spray this stuff on. Wild stuff…

Yeah this is the first time we’ve used it. I like the looks of it, looks like nickel plating to me. But like you say it’s very fragile. We’ll see how it works out. Thanks for the information.
