Thanks guys. Hate that I haven’t had much time to work on the boat lately. The carbs are done at Nickerson now. I hope to have them next week. Still waiting on the oil and transmission coolers. I have a guy cutting my gauge bezels now. When I get them I hope to get into the wiring. Meanwhile I messed with the boat today and got the fairing screwed down. I couldn’t find the correct black anodized screws I was looking for so I used regular stainless screws. I may or may not change those out later. I’ve got bigger fish to fry LOL. I’ve been doing some sanding and buffing in various places. We pretty much have the entire hull clearcoat completely sanded and buffed except for the starboard side Which is still in 3000 grit at this point, still needs to be buffed and polished. The whole deck still has to be sanded buffed and polished. Except for the area behind the engine hatch which is finished. I put some decals on the boat today.
As far as the decals go it is interesting that the star 1 boat has the W forward of the wellcraft decal on the port side. Wayne Kolbs star 2 boat has the W aft of the wellcraft decal on the port side. Wayne’s boat is unrestored. So I went with what he had on his. Which I like the looks of anyway, it’s how I did my 30 footer. Also my bilge dump on the starboard side is further forward than the later boats. So I split it in the middle of the W and the wellcraft decals. Anybody walking up on my boat can tell it’s not correct anyway since it’s got some hardware hanging off the rear that was not available in 1985 lol.
I’m not going to sweat the correctness of these small details too much. For example the grab rail to the right of the helm on my boat is about 6 inches longer than the later boats. It’s these little things you don’t notice until you’re putting the boat together. Oh well. 😃

Santa Claus came early to me yesterday and brought my carbs. I’ve got some spacers ordered as the linkage interferes with the blower housing.

In the body shop we have to pre scan, clear codes, post scan, send to the dealership to be cleared, have ADAS systems initialized, airbag systems initialized, ABS systems, problems with shutter systems on fords, etc. etc. I get burnt out on electronics.
I am actually happy we went with the old fashioned old school non-electronic carb system on this boat.
Shon actually showed up today and helped put the linkages and fuel delivery tubing together.
Also we’ve got the trailer just about ready to paint.
Also getting the cockpit floor ready for gel, and we spent some time putting hardware on engine compartment bulkhead…

Got my toolbox from myco, it’s the same as what was on the trailer when I bought it. The door on the original toolbox fell open on the way home when I bought and was ruined.
Winston is painting the trailer right now. It’ll be nice to get the boat on the trailer. This hobby is taking up way to much floor space that needs to be used for the body shop,
