Talk about going for it in tight spots, I was never small enough myself. Luckily I had a 5'6" helper that weighed about 140#. BTW, after this I'll just drool quietly. I'm an older guy who liked the show when it first aired, guess what I've had in my garage for the past 31 years:

2 months ago it moved to NY State.

FANTASTIC work, keep it up!

Id like to pick up a white one. Doesn’t look like there are any on the market.

White is a harder color to find I agree, plus mine only had 8400 miles, having kids got in the way of cars AND power boating.

Testarossa is COOL!
Originally it was black but that did not show up on TV well so they repainted it white. Stunt car was a DeTomaso Pantera with a Testarossa body kit on it.

HEMTT, I remember salivating at motor trend and car and track articles while in high school. Pantera's Countach's, Ferrari 308's, Testarossa's, etc. etc. I haven't been around many exotics, but back in '06 we refinished a 1999 diablo vt, and a Lambo LM002, also had an 86 RUF 911 in here for repairs at one time. It was then I found out that my exotic dream cars were beautiful, yet completely impractical and dysfunctional, but yet the beautiful outweighed all the other stuff. Ive always loved the Testarossa but have never been close to one. Yours sounds like it was an awesome car. Didn't they have flat 12's or vee configuration? I know I could google it but I like to carry on a conversation. Thanks for the input.

Hblair, I have a few years on you but I was a fan of all those toys too. I had a '72 Pantera and when the Ferrari cam up for sale, it was no contest. The Testarossa was a very drivable car as a daily, the down side is major maintenance is required every 15K. Although you CAN do it with the engine in the car it is MUCH faster to disconnect the subframe and roll the engine/transmission and rear suspension out from under it. All 48 valves must be checked and shimmed accordingly, with only 8k miles, mine were all in spec. Yes, it has a boxer type flat 12 cylinder engine, the transmission is under the engine, so a 17 quart dry sump system was used to make it fit in the low cowl. If you remove the intake tract the engine is probably only 8-10" thick. Testa Rossa means Red Head, hence the red painted heads. The Countach was never an option, if you are much over 5'10" you probably won't fit, I was 6'2".

I’ve been distracted a little lately getting a 2003 corvette z06 I bought back in September with some damage to the front back on the road. It’s been mildly hot rodded by a previous owner and is a blast to drive.

We were able to put the boat in the water today and run the motors and check for leaks. Of course we had some. 😀 I had tacked the winch stand in place to see if the geometry would work with my boat. It doesn’t. The v pad gets into the paint and is going to have to be moved down quite a bit on the stand.

The tacks on the winch broke as we were pulling the boat out of the water and the port propeller touched the tailgate but by the grace of God did no damage to the prop. We will be working more on the boat in the coming weeks.

Congratulations ,the boat turned out very nice , I would be curious to know how your boat runs with those props I run a set of Herings that are 5 blade 18dia x 31pitch 20*rake with a 1:32 gear ratio . What gear are you running ?
