Thanks Jeff, this is a hobby for me, just a weekend warrior. This is stress relief from the body shop business.

Got some more done tonight. We pulled the floor from the v berth. There is a large center stringer in there that is rotten, as well as the right stringer. We will also be replacing the 2nd bulkhead as it is somewhat rotten. We got some 2x6’s to make the stiffener under the cabin floor with, hope to have a lot done by the end of the week if not all of this. I’m falling way behind on my goals here lol.
Also got 10 gallons of core bond and 15 gallons of vinyl ester. We’ll see how far this goes...

Wow that’s a hell of a project. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to see it completed with the arnesons on the back. Going to be a bad mother.

I’ve been waiting on hardener for the core bond, but we got some more done today. After much grinding we Got the #2 bulkhead cut out and new one set in place as well as the frame for the floor set in place.
Found out the large center stringer and the rt side stringer under the v berth are both completely rotten. The #1 bulkhead is rotten at the bottom as well and will be replaced. I’ve noticed that all the bulkheads are “weak” or dry rotted anyway, not water rot just old I guess. It’s good they’re all getting replaced.
Also i have been doing a little research on Coosa board and will likely be replacing all the horizontal boards (v berth, cabin seats, floor, cockpit floor) with Coosa board. I didn’t realize it but the stuff is manufactured 1.5 hours from here in Pelham alabama. The stuff is at least 30% lighter than wood depending on the thickness you use.
Heres where we we are now...
Steel something in the hull we found in the very bottom of the hull. Interesting..

Talk about a can of worms.......
It seems pretty much everything has suffered water or just old age. Good to see you're not cutting corners, she's gonna be a beast when finished.
