I thought it was plastic but it's actually fiberglass, it's in great shape with only a few shrinkage cracks on it .I've still got to repair the bow rail area. Hopefully jump on it tonight.
Pulled the deck outside to blow it off and clean up a few minutes ago. You can see it better now..

Holy crap. You have touched almost every part of the boat. Correct me if i'm wrong but you didn't have to do anything to the desk on the 30?

The area around the engine compartment was rotten on the 30 but that was all. The snap holes for the cover is what did it in as well as this one too. Unless the boats kept inside, it's going to be rotten, period. The 30 footer was exceptionally well cared for, but still had a lot of rot. You see a lot of old cigarettes, I wonder if their quality control back in the day was much better? Old Fountains too?

Man!....would it have been easier to get a mold and start from scratch?
I admire the tenacity you have to do a project like this....I'm guessing 99% of people would have abandoned ship long ago!

I’ve always wanted a flat deck scarab vice boat. Although this isn’t a Miami vice boat it will be made to look like one and be rot free too. And I’m crazy enough to enjoy the work lol.

Well if the snaps were the cause of the leaks, I don't seem many old boats that didn't have snap on covers, so I would say yes they are all rotten.
