Drilling for bulkhead screws and fitting the bow rail. Nice fresh pine to drill into.

Does anybody know where to get these cabin hatch hinges? 3 of my 4 are broken. I can have them made but would rather buy them.

I got some more done today. Got the final application on the outside of the transom. Also repaired some busted places and snap holes around the transom.
Also, I don’t think I’ve posted thiis, but when I replaced the transom way back at the beginning, I did it with the deck off. Don’t do that. 🥴 the transom had a slight crown when I put the deck back on and didn’t want to fit just right. So instead of cutting out a non-rotten transom (act of Congress) I cut the deck just above the transom and filled in the split with glass. It’s gonna be just fine, just don’t tell anybody. 😉

The only difference when doing the transom, i think, is when they are built at the factory, they install the transom stringers and bulkhead while the hull is still in the mold, right? Then they put on the deck...
but still you are doing a great job on that boat !

I spoke to glassdave a while back and he had some good info on installing new rubrail but it looks like think I’m going to stick with the original rub rails on this boat. I welded 2 pieces of angle steel together to act as a form to hammer out the dents in the rail. The two rear pieces were the worst and looks like they’re going to be ok. I test fitted them this afternoon.

We finished tabbing the engine compartment and cockpit. All we lack tabbing the deck down is the galley/head area now, about 5 feet on each side. Then replacing the cockpit stringers and floor and engine compartment stringers and we’ll be home free. Rik at Arneson has the drives almost ready. Things are coming together slowly but surely.

Some more done. Cracks galore to be repaired. I think I’m gonna do away with little gutter around the flange of the engine compartment.
It will look cleaner without it. I’m gonna get the transom done and in primer so I can get the boxes installed and know where the engine brackets are gonna be and how I want to do the engine compartment stringers when I get to that point.
