Most boats have the bilge in front of the engine (s) so you can service them. I've not had a pump fail but the switches fail often (my 2018 boat has already had the remote switch fail). You could run two pumps. One in each location. If you trailer and always have access to the drain plug after boating I see no need for it to be at the transom.

I installed a second bilge pump in the rear by the transom on my 30' I used a Supersub Smart Low Profile Automatic Bilge Pumps and mounted it to a stainless piece of flat stock that runs up the transom. This way if it craps out or needs service I can unscrew the flatstock and lift it up

I did a similar setup on my 33avs, mostly to keep to keep the bilge as dry as possible. I hate the pumps up front so your always riding around with a 3gallon puddle in the bilge

Every day I went out, when I opened the engine hatch on first start up, I'd squirt some dishwashing detergent into the bottom of the bilge. End of the day when the bung is removed, I'd gently rinse the bilge floor with the hose.

Thanks for the information guys. Looks like I’ll go with the rear pump with a way to remove it like Patrick’s talking about without pulling the engine exhaust loose. It’ll be a cleaner less cluttered looking bilge too which is super important LoL. I’ve got the engine stringers glassed up and the grid pattern completely ground out, Gotta glass the engine mount pads in place as well as some ribs in the bottom of the hull, also gotta glass up the original water pickup holes in the bottom of the hull....

I did mostly measuring and head scratching today. Drilled pilot holes in the transom for the boxes. Trying to figure out where to mount the engine pads on the stringers. They’re going to be a lot further back to the stern than before. With this arneson setup, The transmissions bolt to the inner gimbal ring, and hang halfway into the box. So the rear of the engine will be about 10” from the transom. The furthest point forward of the motor will be where I placed the level across the stringers in the last photo. The front of the motor will be about halfway back in the engine compartment. I might just add some extra seating in there lol.

Yeah Kelly, I'm at the point where I think I'll live or die by this setup. Actually from what I've read, these boats are bow heavy anyway, so this is prolly a plus?

In other news, the offshore mounts I have are not going to clear my oil pans. I've got the 10quart milodon jobs. I don't really want to cut on the mounts and have considered using the standard mounts in my 30'. I like that they're adjustable and there's nothing underneath the engine. Thoughts?

Compensate for what? Having trs and arnesons still need the transmission so should be pretty much the same balance , no?

No it wont, because your shifting weight back 8 inches. This is probably what this hull needs.
