I'm going to say the tail end of the chine is in the water unless your flying and that's where my hook is. I don't see the lifting strakes or props carrying that hull that high. This is my only explanation why my nose would go down above 70mph with tabs up and drives trimmed out. I may have some pics of mine at speed, I'll look.
On another note, do like the sound of those motors!

I’ll have to move the jack stands to measure the chines. I’ll try to do that soon.

I got the port side cockpit stringers and braces glassed in today...

Also was able to hang the starbd engine in place. I was super happy to see all kinds of clearance above and below the engine, as well as my tailpipes are going to clear no problem. You see so many of these boats with the engine hatch jamb all cut up for exhaust clearance. These photos are with the wedges still in place. There will be no need for them, and there’s plenty of room for some 256 super chargers down the road...

Great progress Heath ! Did you put any kind of glue or thickened resin underneath the stringer or no need for that?

Thanks Jeff, I trim the pieces pretty close and tab them in place. I don’t use any glue. Thanks Dan, I’ll be addressing the bottom. There may be enough gel on the bottom to sand the hook out without having to applt more. I have another gallon of white if I need it.

i finished the starbd side under the cockpit and started foaming the tank in place. I used the forklift to suspend the tank about 1/2” off the hull and mixed and poured the foam on the front and rear. Then removed the straps and mixed and poured the rest in. Naturally I needed more material. It’s ordered.

Also started glassing the engine mounting pads on the engine stringers tonight. My grandson Liam loves to run around on the deck of the “speedboat”.

Looking terrific.

When it's all finished, get Liam back, buy him some shoes and spill some polish on the deck!

I’ve been very busy with wrk lately and haven’t been able to work on the boat as much. I got the tank foamed in place and installed the fuel filler hose and vent hose. I put two hose clamps on each hose and do not plan on accessing them again unless there’s a problem. I was also able to do some fitting of the companionway door today as well as glassing the forward part of the cockpit floor in place. I bought a box of teak planks a while back for use in this boat. Notice the threshold piece is rotten, somebody replaced it with something other than teak. It’ll be teak again.

Also before I installed the floor I resined the top of the stringers and braces, as well as the bottom of the floor where they meet. I then sunk 3” screws thru the floor into the stringers and braces. From the factory they just ran 16 penny nails thru the floor and called it good.
