Thanks guys. Got some more done today. I’m installing and access door to the main tank pickups and fuel level sending unit. Should be able to tab in the engine compartment bulkhead tomorrow. I’m getting close to being done with the fiberglass work...

Yes and probably a sheet of glass too. I’ve got to order yet another pail of resin. And hallelujah it will be my last one.

Been enjoying this thread immensely, beautiful work.
Maybe 2 silly questions, if you had a mold, would it have been easier to start from scratch and just build a new boat? (Saving all the man hours gutting the old hull)
Also, without wanting to put anyone on the spot, would it have been possible to rent the molds or would it conflict with business issues build copyrights and such?

Even if I started with a new hull fresh out of a mold I’d have still have had to build all the stringers, bulkheads, floors etc. plus with an existing boat I have all the dimensions and measurements for all those parts. It’s just takes a little while. 😄

Also was able to hang the starbd engine in place. I was super happy to see all kinds of clearance above and below the engine, as well as my tailpipes are going to clear no problem. You see so many of these boats with the engine hatch jamb all cut up for exhaust clearance. These photos are with the wedges still in place. There will be no need for them, and there’s plenty of room for some 256 super chargers down the road...

They’re made to fit either side. And are slightly offset, to the rear if on the left side, to the front if on the right side. The left head is in front of the right head, so this makes the tailpipes pretty even. Did that make sense? This is from memory in my recliner lol
